"Silva gets the
best lines, and she makes the most of them. Albert charms with her upbeat attitude and singing. Tower convinces as Phil, and
Eigner is lovable as Marty. Delaney’s Matt is my favorite character; he’s not caught up in the artifice of the
theater, but suffering through his own real life situation." - Jean Lowerison, Gay & Lesbian Times.
"...tipped in the wrong direction by director Steve
Murdock...the pacing is slow...throughout, one refrain keeps repeating in your head: 'Comedy?' Really?'"
- Pat Launer, sdtheatrescene.com.
"The set design was classy, the lighting creatin g the perfectly soothing ambiance, the
comic timing of the actors impeccable. Great job by director Steve Murdock and producer Lizzie Mander." - Paola Hornbuckle,
sdtheatrescene.com.
"All
the players did a great job - fun - play" - Susanka, Goldstar Patron.
"It was funny and poignant, acting was great ... thoroughly enjoyed the show" - Anne,
Goldstar Patron.

One of the most successful off-Broadway comedies of recent years,
this rapid-fire comedy of one-liners was written by funny lady Anne Meara. She has written and performed hilarious comic
material for many years as a solo performer and with her husband, Jerry Stiller, but "After-Play" goes far beyond
mere one-liners (of which there are many). Set in a chic Manhattan restaurant, four friends of long acquaintance reunite for drinks and dinner after a Broadway show. They soon discover that
time and distance have changed them more than they thought.
Director Steve Murdock
makes his debut at OnStage after recent stints as an actor and technical director at the Coronado Playhouse.
The cast of veteran actors includes Lucy Ann Albert, fresh from her appearance in Tobacco Road at La Jolla
Playhouse, and playwright/actor Michael Thomas Tower whose musical Backwater Blues, recently premiered at
Compass Theatre. Ed Eigner returns to OnStage after appearing at the Compass Theatre in Troilus and
Cressida, and local favorite Yvonne Lindroth Silva makes a long overdue return to the stage. Rachel
Bishop and Tom Delaney round out the exceptionally talented cast. Producer Lizzie
Mander brings much of her production team from her recent award-winning production of Blithe Spirit, including Mia
Bane as lighting designer and set design by San Diego’s own Rosemary King.
Ticket prices are $15.00 general admission and $13.00 for students, seniors, military personnel. Group rates are available
